Hanging Hollow Body Drill – Core Strength & Shoulder Mobility

May 8, 2015 by Nick Horton

Need a stronger core? How about stronger and more mobile shoulders? Try the Hanging Hollow Body Drill — In today’s episode of Weightlifting Academy!

All you need for this drill is something to hang from, like a pull-up bar or a tree branch. Start by hanging fully relaxed in the shoulders.

The first active phase is attempting to pull your shoulders down into the joint and tightening up your core in the process. By pulling your shoulders down, your body will go up. (Don’t bend your elbows, this is not a pull-up. Keep the arms straight.)

The second phase is simply lifting the legs in a leg-raise. Hold this final position for a bit. Go back to just hanging there relaxed. Start over.
