In other words, the best you can do in BOTH of the barbell strength sports.
I actually started out in Powerlifting before I switched over to Olympic weightlifting, so I’ve always had a special place in my heart for both of them.
(Don’t tell anyone, but I also kinda like Bodybuilding… basically, if barbells are involved, I like it 🙂
Unfortunately, training for both strength sports at the same time poses A LOT of problems!
In many ways… the training for one is the OPPOSITE of the training for the other.
In the deadlift, you want to pull off the floor as fast as humanly possible.
But, if you do that on the Snatch or clean… you’re BONED!
That (and so many other little things) makes for a VERY confused brain when trying to get great at all 5 lifts at the same time.
ESPECIALLY if you are learning all on your own.
