There are no secrets, but if there were, this would be it. Find out what Bruce Lee & Emerson had in common — In today’s episode of Weightlifting Academy!
The “Secret” is not a secret, but you might think it was based on how few people actually follow the advice.
Beginners HATE to hear that the only thing that works is drill, repetition, and embracing the long, hard, BORING work. But that’s the only “secret”. All other ideas about training and programming are worthless without a profound amount of practice.
Dan Bell, my friend and a hell of a good Olympic weightlifting coach, was at my gym last weekend running a clinic. It was loaded with great information. I’m going to be making videos going over a lot of that material for you over the next number of weeks. But before I do that, I wanted to hammer home the most important thing he wishes more people would actually DO: practice.
You need to put in the reps. Not a little bit, a lot-a-bit! (… which is the opposite of “a little bit”, right?)
- I’m doing a more in depth look at the material Dan taught, and how it can be incorporated into everything we teach here, in the weekly Nemesis Journal. The journal is designed for Coaches, Teachers, and Serious Athletes.
