The “Expert Fallacy” is the exact opposite of what it sounds like.
You think it means: Avoid pretending to be more of an expert than you are. Actually, it refers to assuming that your students are more expert than THEY really are.
Good teaching is about helping your students master the basics. In order to do that, you have to actually teach those basics!
